Bringing their Jersey sound to Vegas, Bon Jovi performed at the 2012 iHeartRadio Music Festival on Friday (September 21).
When asked if the band will be hitting the town after their midday performance, Jon laughed, "That's why we went on early instead of closing."
The Jersey Boys shared billing at the festival with Green Day, who recently took a jab at the legendary rock band. In an interview with UK's Kerrang! Radio last week, frontman Billie Jo Armstrong was asked who were the best and worst bands they've shared the stage with. For the worst, Billie replied, "Oh boy, I have to go with Bon Jovi."
No specific reason was given for the choice, but the comment was perhaps made with poor timing. Just yesterday both bands performed at the iHeart Radio Music Fest.
It's hard to believe the long-enduring band would be singled out so negatively. Recently, frontman Jon Bon Jovi was featured on the cover of an issue of Forbes which focused on the philanthropy of the rich. More than 10,000 meals have been served through his foundation's Soul Kitchen in Red Bank, N.J., and he's worked closely with Sister Mary Scullion and Covenant House on a variety of projects in Philadelphia. Watch the video of an interview with Jon and Richie Sambora at the festival.
